Easter Basket!

I finished this Lizze Kate pattern last year, but I found this cute frame from Joann's Fabric after Valentine's Day that was 75% off and this piece fit perfectly.  So happy with how this came out.  Called for threads and stitched on 32 count light mocha.

A Little Luck!

Sharing a previous fully finished piece.  A Little Luck by Lizzie Kate.

Mounted the finished piece on sticky board and then attached to another piece of sticky board covered with a pale green gingham fabric.  The frame I got from Hobby Lobby, as well as the cute Leprechaun.  I love how this turned out and such a quick stitch.

Vintage Chandelier

Picked up this beauty!  Brass with glass crystals.  I'm going to clean her up and either dry brush some Old White letting the brass come through or just let her natural beauty shine.  Mind you, I am not a brass fan and I'm not sure how it will look in my dining room, but we shall see.  I'll keep you posted.

Refinished Dresser

I love this transformation I did for my client.  She had this vintage piece in her family for a long time and I was honored to make it into a special piece for her family.  I used Annie Sloan Old White and updated the drawer pulls with crystal knobs.

Such a sweet changing table. :)

After a long time away from blogging, I am back and with another obsession - cross stitching!  My goal is to keep this Blog Alive! :)  So I hope you will join me on my journey of things I love to do and maybe I can inspire you to paint and/or stitch.

Honeybee Sampling by Little House Needleworks

I love this pattern.  I stitched it on 32 Count Love Letter from Colour & Cotton.  Such a pretty linen with a hint of yellow.  I used all of the call for threads except I substituted  CC Hazelnut with CC Queen Bee.  Now on to fully finish this piece. :)

I am also working on this cute piece - Strawberry House by LHN.

Thought I would share a fully finished piece from October.  Lizzie Kate's Hallowing Sampling.

Driftwood/beach Theme Accent Table

My hubby came home the other with this great find. A Drexel accent table in which he paid $2!!!

I wanted to try this new technique from Annie Sloan's book "Color recipes for painted furniture," it's called a wet wax.

I first painted the table in French Linen, two coats. I then mixed Paris Grey with Pure White and watered it down to a thin consistency.

Before painting this mixture, I applied AS clear wax and worked in sections. I divided the top in half. After I applied the wax, I did a gentle wipe off keeping it tacky. I then immediately painted with my mixture and wiped off with shop towels until I got the look I desired.

Just make sure your paint is watery, as it won't work as well.  I continued to work in sections. Wax, wipe, paint, wipe, etc

It's such a great technique!  I can't wait to try more pieces. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.

Thank you and happy painting!!

Mid Century Server

The cast of characters!

I received a lot of negativity for painting this piece, but oh well!!  My client wanted it painted, so I did.

The top was damaged, so I recommended painting the top and trim only.  The wood on this piece is gorgeous. Sometimes you have to let the natural beauty shine!

I painted this piece in Annie Sloan Florence and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat.

Client is happy, which makes me happy!! That's all that matters.
