Driftwood/beach Theme Accent Table

My hubby came home the other with this great find. A Drexel accent table in which he paid $2!!!

I wanted to try this new technique from Annie Sloan's book "Color recipes for painted furniture," it's called a wet wax.

I first painted the table in French Linen, two coats. I then mixed Paris Grey with Pure White and watered it down to a thin consistency.

Before painting this mixture, I applied AS clear wax and worked in sections. I divided the top in half. After I applied the wax, I did a gentle wipe off keeping it tacky. I then immediately painted with my mixture and wiped off with shop towels until I got the look I desired.

Just make sure your paint is watery, as it won't work as well.  I continued to work in sections. Wax, wipe, paint, wipe, etc

It's such a great technique!  I can't wait to try more pieces. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.

Thank you and happy painting!!

Mid Century Server

The cast of characters!

I received a lot of negativity for painting this piece, but oh well!!  My client wanted it painted, so I did.

The top was damaged, so I recommended painting the top and trim only.  The wood on this piece is gorgeous. Sometimes you have to let the natural beauty shine!

I painted this piece in Annie Sloan Florence and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat.

Client is happy, which makes me happy!! That's all that matters.

"Paris" chest of drawers

This piece was a great find!  My love and I were out checking the local yard sales  and came across a house that had this in the driveway with a sign that said Free!  Yippee!  I pretty much ran over there to get it before anyone else saw it.

She needed a little work. I completely sanded down the top.

And decided to paint her in General Finishes Seagull Gray Milk Paint and do some accents in a custom mix of GF Lamp Black mixed with Modern Masters Metallic Pewter.

The color turned to be a shimmery black.

I then cleaned the hardware and added pewter guilding wax.

I added a Paris stencil to the top.

A floral stencil motif was added to the drawer fronts and I painted the drawer sides/stenciled for extra cuteness!

She was sealed using General Finishes Top Coat in Satin.

Tada!!!

Vintage Dixie Sideboard

I just love this mid century sideboard!  She is huge!  6 ft long with lots of storage.

I painted this beauty in General Finishes Linen, lightly distressed and sealed with their high performance top coat in flat.

I just love what paint can do!

Hand painted Kimball End Tables

Simply beautiful Kimball End Tables. They don't make them like this anymore!  Super heavy/solid piece of furniture.

I painted them in General Finishes milk paint in the color Linen. Such a great product!  Goes on like butta!

Lightly distressed, sealed them with General Finishes Top Coat in Flat and added some gold gilding wax on the details.

Such a great look for any decor!

Shabby chic chest

I'm in love with how this piece came out!

Such a cute piece that I got for. Great price at a local yard sale.

I painted the body in Annie Sloan Pure White Chalk Paint and the drawers I painted in Provence.

I heavily distressed her, painted the sides of the drawers and added a cute stencil.

I painted the knobs in pure white as well and sealed the entire piece with CeCe Caldwells wax. I like the ease of her wax a little better than Annie Sloan's.

I'm just tickled how she looks. The best part is it sold within an hour!

French Provincial Desk & Table

I just love this style!!

They always look 100% better painted!

I painted these girls in Annie Sloan Pure White and Antoinette and  accented with Modern Masters Pale Gold.

I also used Gold Gilding Wax on the original hardware.

I love this French script!

Super pleased with how they turned out!
